Mold inspection vs. mold testing: what’s the difference?
A mold inspection focuses on identifying conditions that support mold (especially moisture sources) and locating suspected problem areas. Mold testing adds sampling and lab analysis (air/surface/cavity, depending on the situation) to document what’s present at the time of sampling. In many cases, the best starting point is a thorough inspection and moisture evaluation—then testing is used when it will change a decision (scope, clearance, claim documentation, or due diligence).
