This SMS Privacy Policy (“SMS Policy”) explains how Building Investigation Services (“BIS,” “we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when we communicate by text message/SMS/MMS using our business phone numbers.
SMS Data Sharing Policy
We do not share your SMS information with third parties except as required by law.
We do not transfer your personal information to any external organizations for any purpose, even with your consent.

1) Scope
This SMS Policy applies to:
Customers, prospective customers, and other individuals who text us or receive texts from us, and
Applicants/employees who receive texts related to onboarding and employment communications.
2) What information we collect for SMS
When you text us or we text you, we may collect and process:
Phone number
Message content (including any photos, attachments, or information you choose to send)
Message metadata (such as date/time, delivery status, and conversation logs)
Your name or identifiers you provide in the conversation
Appointment and service details necessary to schedule, confirm, or support your request
Onboarding details necessary to support employee onboarding communications (limited to what is needed)
3) Message types and how we use SMS
We use SMS/text messaging only for the following message types:
A) Account Notification (examples include):
Appointment confirmations and scheduling communications (reminders, confirmations, and basic coordination)
B) Customer Care (examples include):
Answering customer questions and requests that you initiate by text (including follow-ups needed to resolve your inquiry)
New employee onboarding communications (start-date logistics, training instructions, document reminders, and operational updates)
We do not use these numbers for marketing or promotional texting.
4) Consent and message frequency
If you initiate contact by texting us, you consent to receive text messages reasonably related to your inquiry and necessary follow-ups.
If you provide your phone number for scheduling or coordination, you consent to receive texts related to Account Notification and Customer Care communications described above.
For employee onboarding communications, consent may be obtained during hiring/onboarding and is limited to work-related logistics and operational communications.
Message frequency varies depending on appointment activity, the nature of your inquiry, and onboarding needs.
5) Opt-out and help
You can opt out of receiving SMS at any time by replying STOP to any message. After you opt out, you may receive one additional message confirming your opt-out.

6) Service providers and sharing
We use service providers to enable business texting and related communications. These providers may process your phone number, message content, and messaging metadata on our behalf to deliver messages and manage conversations (including our phone/texting platform provider and telecommunications partners).

To protect rights, safety, and security of our business, customers, employees, and others

9) Important SMS notes (please read)
Do not send sensitive information by text. Please do not text Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, bank account information, credit card numbers, medical information, or other highly sensitive data.
Text messages may be visible on your phone screen and accessible to anyone with access to your device or messaging account.

10) Children’s privacy
Our SMS communications are not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where required by law). We do not knowingly collect personal information via SMS from children.
11) Your rights and requests
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of certain personal information we hold. To make a request, contact us using the information in Section 5.
12) Changes to this SMS Policy
